The FDA has issued a similar warning on the prescription version of Viagra, which was also sold as a tablet by GlaxoSmithKline in 1998.
The recall action came after a report that the drug has been recalled following the drug being recalled by the U. Food and Drug Administration for possible misuse and abuse.
The recall is being conducted by the U. Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Criminal Investigations.
The FDA says the FDA was informed of the recall on Sept. 21 and the FDA is advising consumers to contact their local agency directly at 1-800-FDA-1088.
The FDA said it has received reports of “serious adverse reactions” to sildenafil.
It is not yet known whether the drug is associated with the deaths of patients taking sildenafil and other drugs that treat sexual dysfunction.
The drug was distributed in the United States through AstraZeneca PLC’s website.
